Kayla Hori

Master’s candidate

Kayla Hori is originally from the Bay Area, California. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Sports Studies in Fall of 2021. Kayla is in her second year as a graduate Kinesiology student at California State University, Northridge. This is her second semester in the Move-Learn Lab as a member. She continues to learn and assist in upcoming projects. Kayla is currently working as a Physical Therapy aide at the Physical Therapy West clinic. In the future, Kayla hopes to pursue a career enriched with biomechanics research in the Deaf population. Kayla plans to apply to Kinesiology Ph.D programs after she takes a gap year from completing her master’s. Outside of the lab, she enjoys traveling, eating plant-based foods, watching sports, and getting involved in the Deaf community. Kayla doesn’t let her Deafness stop her from thriving.
